‘YES, and be on the right side of History’ – Artist Jeff Quigley

‘YES, and be on the right side of History’ – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley
My inspiration for this one is my strong belief that it is 2023 and the time is now to recognize that this continent was not and never was Terra Nullius and we should enshrine in our constitution an Indigenous voice to parliament.

The painting depicts From Left to right: Vincent Lingiari and The Great Man, Gough Whitlam pouring sand, (From little things big things grow), Kevin Rudd’s Apology to “The stolen Generation”, Anthony Albanese sharing a laugh with Galarrwuy Yunupingu at the Garma Festival, and Land Rights Activist Eddie Koiki Mabo

YES, and be on the right side of History a Framed mixed media piece, collage and acrylic on canvas, a large painting 88cm x 58cm. It is my latest work and hopefully will be hung in the next exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery. That exhibition will be opening on the 9th August 2023.

CATCHING THE RATTLER – ALL STATIONS TO THE CITY (circa 1970s) – Artist Jeff Quigley

Catching the Rattler, All stations to the city (circa 1970s) … This work was inspired from my memories of being one of the thousands of commuter cattle that boarded the Red Rattlers each working day morning to make our way to the City (Sydney NSW). The station portrayed is my home station Gymea on the Cronulla Line.

Catching the Rattler, All stations to the city (circa 1970s) is Framed and is acrylic on canvas, a large painting 70cm x 50cm. It is my latest work which has now been accepted into the new exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery which opened June the 17th.

THE DREAM IS SHATTERED, SORRY DR KING – Artist Jeff Quigley

…. SOLD …. SOLD …. SOLD …

The Dream Is Shattered, Sorry Dr King is the title of this piece.

The Dream Is Shattered, Sorry Dr King is Framed and is an acrylic on canvas, a painting 50cm x 40cm. It is my latest work and will be hung in the next exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery. The next exhibition will be opening on approximately the 11th June.

Martin Luther King is one of the most inspirational men of my lifetime. It was such a shame that he was taken so early and taken in the very tragic American way. He was assassinated.

The United States of America could certainly do with a lot more of his type and his type of leadership right now.

There is a very dangerous imbecile lurking again and one who looks to threaten the democracy of his own country.

HIGH-RISE COMETH THE PRECEDENT IS SET – Artist Jeff Quigley

…. SOLD …. SOLD …. SOLD …

High-Rise Cometh, The Precedent Is Set is the title of this piece.
The beautiful coastal town of Emu Park of which I reside in and have done so for 37 years is about to change forever with the recently approved first ever development of a six storey high rise complex.

In a narrow four votes to three the local Council approved of supporting this development application. No doubt more high-rise will quickly follow as the precedent has now been set.

This painting depicts my feelings on the development and my concerns for the future of the township. The four Livingstone Shire councilors that voted for this are depicted in my work. They are from left to right, Councilor Adam Belot, Mayor Andy Ireland, Councilor Pat Eastwood and Councilor Glenda Mather

HEAVY LANDING BEFORE THE SHORE BREAK – Artist Jeff Quigley

This one has gone to a good home…

Heavy Landing Before the Shore Break is the title of this piece. I started this painting as a wave break crashing over rocks and eventually added some gulls, then I decided on a pelican or two. I got a bit off script but that is how things go with my paintings.

Again, sorry about the quality of the photos. One day I will get it right. I believe the painting looks a lot better in real view than the in the Quigley Camera work.

Heavy Landing Before the Shore Break is Framed and is an acrylic on canvas, a large painting 88cm x 58cm. It is my latest work and hopefully will be hung in the next exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery. The next exhibition will be opening in early February.
All my paintings will be for sale.
