Have We Saved Our Pics Correctly

Alright this is where we are up to with saving your five pics to your computer.
We have saved five pics of the small bags – where did we save them ?
You saved them to a folder inside a folder, inside a folder, inside a folder.
C Drive –> My Documents –> bag-pics-for-web –> bags-july-07 –>original-pics
now if you go into the original-pics folder and open it you would see something like thisDSC000001.jpg
DSC000002.jpg
DSC000003.jpg
DSC000004.jpg
DSC000005.jpg

HEY LET’S DO IT FAIR DINKUM…. !!!!! HOW ? because we can… that’s why

If you have created the folders above in your ‘MY DOCUMENTS’ folder … if not then please do it. It will make it so much easier to show you as we go. I have created these folders on my computer to step by step with you..

Done it yet — good.

My Documents –> bag-pics-for-web –> bags-july-07 –>original-pics

OKAY CLICK HERE … to go to a page where I have set up 5 big pics to copy and paste into
your original-pics folder – don’t worry I will show you how to do that ..

Imagine that they are the five bag pics that you just took using your own digital camera that have been named by your cameras system
(Some basic technical information) jpg is what they call the file format name that virtually means they are a picture. But each file / picture must have a file format name.

These five pics are your original pics and are very big. Now if you resize these original images and resize them down in size then you cant re-resize them back later and make them big and high resolution again. Once they have been shrunk – they don’t get big again. They are gonski as far as making them high resolution again.

THAT IS WHY WE SAVE THEM INTO OUR ORIGINAL FOLDER….
it gives us something to fall back on…. an original back up.

THIS IS OUR OBJECTIVE AND IT IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF GOOD COMPUTER ‘HOUSEKEEPING’

Any time we resize the original pics we save them to the “resized-pics” folder. So we have the original pic saved in the “original-pics” folder and the same resized pic in the “resized-pics” folder.

RIGHT NOW WE HAVE SOMETHING TO PLAY WITH – TO LEARN WITH – TO EXPERIMENT WITH
